Rollback granted
[edit]Hi Pmokeefe. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Beeblebrox (talk) 23:07, 3 February 2017 (UTC)
AN/I
[edit]There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. —MelbourneStar☆talk 10:49, 4 February 2017 (UTC)
I reverted the article to remove unsourced, biased content added by someone from an anonymous IP – which itself did not have a comment about why it was added. I didn't realize this would be controversial. Dylan38 (talk) 18:59, 4 February 2017 (UTC)
No worries. Thanks. Dylan38 (talk) 19:14, 4 February 2017 (UTC)

Sorry, my mistake! I will restore your revisions.

I reverted one or more of your recent contributions to DesignSpark PCB
[edit]promotional ? That planet are you living on ?
- I did remove dead links
- I did fix links that got new urls
- I did fix the release date + software version
- Fixed the some of the wrong text
- Now I will have to take my time make a complaint on you......
Regards Larsbg dk
I restored your changes, my apologies for removing the constructive material you contributed. However, your text
"is the world’s most accessible, free electronics design software, turning your circuit ideas into testable boards, faster"
does sound "promotional" in tone and may even reduce the credibility of your article - it did that for me and I used to be in the software business.
I encourage you to change that into something more neutral, similar to the previous lead.
Cheers!

Thank you. I have now remove the citation on the wiki page i got from the webpage.

Nick Price
[edit]I noticed that you reverted one of my edits as it did not appear constructive to you. I would like to inform you that I am Nick's agent and he requested the change. Please refrain from such behavior. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.15.68.109 (talk) 23:11, 5 February 2017 (UTC)
I reverted an edit on the article for Mick Price (snooker player), not "Nick Price", to the remove the nickname "Rare teeth". When I googled "Mick Price" and "Rare teeth" together there were no hits.
Also I recommend reviewing Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest with respect to your statement about being an agent fulfilling the request of the subject of the article.

However, we use this communication to request you kindly remove all content from this page inmediatelly. Also, we request you stop writting under the name TULIO CAPRILES MENDOZA since some content is offensive and very harmfull to his personal image. Moreover, he has never attended UNIVERSIDAD CENTRAL DE VENEZUELA. And, he has never dedicated to create any newspapers outside his own. Being most of the content difamatory meaninfull, we strongly urge you to eliminate the space and request a public apology. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.8.26.30 (talk) 22:31, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
Sorry, but you are mistaken. I have not been writing under the name TULIO CAPRILES MENDOZA, in fact I reverted some vandalism done by User:Tulio Capriles Mendoza to that article.

Sorry, but I did not write anything about Tulio Capriles Mendoza, nor am I responsible for the overall content of that article, I merely reverted some apparent vandalism done to that article on one occasion. Box Hill School (Removal of content)
[edit]This is regarding the removal of information from the Box Hill School wiki, the reasoning for the removal was that the additions were not deemed to be "constructive". I seriously don't know what I am doing on Wikipedia! Do you have any recommendations of where I can post my ideas on another website? I was thinking of a blog, but I believe that won't take off as much as Wikipedia considering the traffic of the site. If you do recommend a blog, then maybe I am wrong about not having a high traffic website, I will then accept it as expertise from a blogger yourself!
Also, can my ideas get stolen on Wikipedia? I have my book posted for free on Wikipedia because I suck at formalities. I thought that Wikipedia had free editors of a book so that's why I got it reviewed. Again, don't know what I am doing. Hopefully you can clear things up! Joseph Walsh (talk) 17:29, 15 February 2017 (UTC) |
Hi Joseph Walsh,
Wikipedia articles are definitely the wrong place to post your original ideas, see Wikipedia:No original research policy.
A blog sounds like a great idea, you might try looking at this Wikipedia article for ideas on where to do that: Comparison of free blog hosting services.
Cheers!

The Kettle War
[edit]I added a casualties list to the page and it got taken down but I think my edit was kinda funny and factual considering that only casualty was a kettle. I would like to talk more about this issue Editman182638 (talk) 18:41, 16 February 2017 (UTC)
You made a change the infobox of that article: see Help:Infobox . The particular infobox used in that article is this one: Template:Infobox military conflict. The parameters of an infobox including the casualties1 parameter which you changed, are used to help compare the facts across articles.
casualties1/casualties2 – optional – casualties suffered, including dead, wounded, missing, captured, and civilian deaths. Terms such as "dead" (or "killed"), "wounded", or "captured" should be used in place of abbreviations such as "KIA" or "POW".
Sorry, but I don't believe your contribution fits those guidelines.

References
[edit]Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. Remember that when adding content about health, please only use high-quality reliable sources as references. We typically use review articles, major textbooks and position statements of national or international organizations (There are several kinds of sources that discuss health: here is how the community classifies them and uses them). WP:MEDHOW walks you through editing step by step. A list of resources to help edit health content can be found here. The edit box has a built-in citation tool to easily format references based on the PMID or ISBN. We also provide style advice about the structure and content of medicine-related encyclopedia articles. The welcome page is another good place to learn about editing the encyclopedia. External academic review and publication of Wikipedia pages
[edit]Hi Patrick. In case you'd not come across it before, I thought I'd message to ask whether there are any Wikipedia articles that you'd be interested in creating/updating/overhauling and submitting for external, academic peer review.
The WikiJournal of Science (www.wikijsci.org) couples the rigour of academic peer review with the extreme reach of the encyclopedia. For existing Wikipedia articles, it's a great way to get additional feedback from external experts. Peer-reviewed articles are dual-published both as standard academic PDFs, as well as having changes integrated back into Wikipedia. This improves the scientific accuracy of the encyclopedia, and rewards authors with citable, indexed publications. It also provides much greater reach than is normally achieved through traditional scholarly publishing.
Note that we do have to publish under real names, so if you don't want your real name associated to your username, you may have to choose atopic that your username has not previously edited.
Anyway, let me know whether you'd be interested in putting an article through academic peer review (either solo, or with a team of coauthors).
